Kobalt Leaf Blower Glitch

In the interest of journalistic honesty, there was a glitch in my Kobalt leaf blower, but it all turned out well, thanks to both Kobalt and Lowe’s good service. The blower was still under warranty.

My first one stopped working, and I assumed it was the battery (big mistake!). I went back to Lowe’s and they gave me a battery off the floor, but that failed, too. Time to read the instruction manual. There, they clearly stated that the charger was delicate, and never, never get the charger wet.

I had mounted the charger in the garage near the door opening, but I had a local company replacing the belt on the garage door opener on a rainy day. While they were working on it, some rain could have hit the charger.

Things were getting complicated, so I called the Kobalt toll-free service number they gave in manual. There, a guy answered immediately and said to just return everything to Lowe’s, and Kobalt would figure it all out.

Ah, music to my ears.

I did what he suggested, and the replacement leaf blower  was a newer model with better features (a lower speed that did not knock me backwards every time I pulled the trigger). This is what I have now and am very happy with. (I moved the charger to the back of the garage where it is better protected from rain.)
