The Philadelphia Mural

I had to post this photo of an old Philadelphia mural painted on an underpass wall somewhere near the foot of Arch Street. I think it is hilarious, but when I was there a year or so ago, it was gone, painted over with a scene of some racing horses.

The new mural of the horses is irrelevant to the area, but the old mural of two out-of-shape Jewish guys all dressed up in proper cycling gear (at least the lead guy), huffing and puffing on their bikes, sure isn’t. I think my 25 years of working part-time for our local Jewish Community Center qualifies me to say so. I hope it was not painted over because it was too controversial.

Whatever, good job first artist! Some of us still appreciate it.
