New Words

A new word (to me): “merch,” short for “merchandise,” as in, I’m going to the mall to check out the merch. There is no implication of buying anything. That will be done later on Amazon.

Another abbreviation used by your grandchildren is “bae,”  short for “babe,” meaning their main squeeze.  (Only short by one letter, but that’s enough.  I just did the same with an apostrophe.)  Someone pointed out that “bae” is the Danish word for poop, but that is only an amusing coincidence, unknown outside of Amsterdam.

About Roger Walck

My reasons for writing this blog are spelled out in the posting of 10/1/2012, Montaigne's Essays. They are probably not what you think.
