69th Street

Here is a recent picture of an amazing Moorish building at 69th Street, across from the Terminal at the bottom of the hill.  Judy Young thinks it was the old Frank & Seder department store.  Can anyone confirm that?  Does anyone remember Kressge’s 5&10 (the forerunner of KMart, children) and the Penn Fruit grocery at the top of the hill?   Of course, we all remember the giant slide set up for Christmas and Easter.

About Roger Walck
